Many at times we have set goals and aims for ourselves
thinking that’s our purpose for existence because dictionary says purpose means
aims. It’s true everything was created for a purpose, so are you. The
manufacturer or creator of a thing determines its purpose because it had something
in mind while creating it. God created you so He determines your purpose.
Let’s consider a hammer; it’s designed to hit nails. That’s
what it was created to do. Now imagine that the hammer never gets used. It just sits in the tool box. The hammer doesn’t
care.
But now imagine that same hammer with a soul, self-consciousness.
Days and days go by with him remaining in the toolbox. He feels funny inside,
but he’s not sure exactly why. Something is missing, but he doesn’t know what
it is.
Then one day someone pulls him out of the toolbox and uses
him to break some branches for the fire. The hammer is exhilarated. Being held,
being wielded, hitting the branches—the hammer loves it at the end of the day,
though, he is still unfulfilled. Hitting the branches was fun, but it wasn’t enough,
something is still missing.
In the days that follow, he’s used often he reshapes a
hubcap (wheel), blasts through some rock, knocks a table leg back into place. Still
he’s left unfulfilled. So he longs for more action.
He wants to be used as much as possible to knock things
around, to break things, to blast things to dent things; He figures that he
just hasn’t had enough of these events to satisfy him. More of the same, he
believes, is the solution to his lack of fulfilment.
Then one day someone uses him on a nail. Suddenly, the
lights come on in his hammer soul. He now understands what he was truly
designed for. He was meant to hit nails. All the other things he hit pale in
comparison. Now he knows what his hammer soul was searching for all along.
Many Believers in the Body of Christ are not sure what their
purpose is, here’s good news, all believers have been given the same Ultimate
divine purpose for their own lives which is already ordained in God’s word. Whether
you are a minister, a housewife, a career person, a young adult or a brand new
born again, every believer is called to be an Ambassador for Christ.
Taking it back to where it all began. The Purpose of Creation was for man to have a
relationship with God, while dominating the earth. (Let us make man), But the Devil wasn’t happy
with this purpose; because he felt He ruled, dominated and owned the earth. So
he Thwarted Gods creation purpose for man. But the good news is God didn’t give
up on man, Rather He brought Christ of Purpose to us.
The Bible Says for this
same purpose the Son of man was made manifest that He may destroy the works of
the Devil. When He came He didn’t only destroy the works of the Devil, but He redefined
purpose. He taught us our purpose is to
Praise God, Worship Him, to proclaim His greatness and to accomplish His will
(Having a genuine relationship with man). In my own words we are expected to
Know Christ and make Him known to the world. Having said all this….. Purpose is
having a relationship with God and winning souls for Him. Don’t try to discover
purpose but rather discover how to fulfil Gods purpose. What is that thing you love doing, does it
give glory to God? Can it win Souls for Christ? If it does then that’s your
perfect method for purpose. Love you plenty.
